Custom Build Archive

Before settling into a regular schedule of new product release, EAE was an outlet for designs which are unique, complex, and frequently offbeat. You might see one of these pedals in the wild or find one on the used market. If you have any questions about an old custom build please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Past Releases (Non-Exhaustive):

Laggard - Collaboration with Dunn Effects (STL). One side is a PT2399 delay with hypertriangular pitch modulation (the only one of its kind as far as we know), and the other side is a VCA auto-swell with adjustable attack and decay. Two small batches were made, one in late 2017 and one in early 2018.

Chris Lee-Q - High-quality buffer, active baxandall, and a sweepable midrange control all in one. For our friend Chris of the band Really From.

Optocomp - Simple feedback topology using a VACTROL with subtle attack and release times, plus an active two-band EQ. Three units made.

Longsword V1 Deluxe - modified Longsword V1 (using leftover PCBs from the initial run) with the following additions: a charge pump for 18V of headroom, a modified james-baxandall stack, and an independent transistor boost in front. Collaboration with Scot from S&K Pedals. Six units made, now permanently out of production. The boost feature was an inspiring factor for the boost channel in Longsword V3.

30V FX10 - DOD FX10 clone modified for over 30V of headroom from a 9V supply, done in collaboration with Scot from S&K Pedals. Five units made.

SKOM - Some Kind of Muff. IC/BJT hybrid Big Muff-inspired circuit, designed in collaboration with Scot from S&K pedals. Voiced for extremely high gain and a bass-heavy EQ. Might resurface in some form down the line.

Claymore - Longsword V2 circuit with a blend circuit and different clipping options, designed for bassists. Six units were made, plus a seventh one-off using a MOSFET booster to replace the blend circuit. An updated version is in the works.

2PI Preamp - Acoustic 360 preamp with fuzz. The design has been changed multiple times but the concept remains the same.

Mojo Titan - Clone of the Sonic Titan with fancy parts, also previously available as a DIY circuit board. PCB files are now available on OSHPark if you want to build your own.

Bastard Sword (and Variants) - Limited edition Longsword V1 with extra switching options. This eventually became the Longsword V2. Other versions include Longclaw, Master Sword, Vorpal Sword. No longer produced.

Various one-offs - see the gallery here. For archival purposes only.
